Miss YWCA crowned
The seventeenth annual Miss Y Pageant was held at Bird’s Isle on Saturday night and seven contestants between the ages of seventy-one and eighty graced the stage. The audience was entertained throughout the show, particularly when it came to the talent segment. There was dancing, singing and drama; just to name a few and in the end eighty year old Muriel Cummings was crowned Miss Y 2011. Muriel, who was the first contestant, kicked off the show on a high note with a lively introduction and she kept the energy high right up to the big announcement by hosts, Lauren Burgess and Raphael Martinez. Here are some highlights of Muriel’s performance on Saturday night.
