Teakettle resident charged for murder

Shane Simpliss

While police investigate Tutt’s murder, a Teakettle resident has been arrested and charged for the murder of twenty-three year old Shane Simpliss, who was brutally killed last Wednesday night. Simpliss was among a group that was partying at the home of seventeen year old Elton Vasquez in Teakettle Village when two other friends showed up armed with a handgun and a machete. Vasquez was chopped on the chest and when Simpliss stood up for him, he became a target. The men chopped him on the head and shot him on the left side of his chest. Simpliss succumbed to his injuries, while Vasquez had to be hospitalized. Police have since arrested twenty-two year old John Ernesto Almendarez Jr. and charged him for the murder.

One caught, one more to go if I remember correctly. As sad as this is, this is one of those cases which should be fast tracked since there are cooperating witnesses. Waiting 2 to 4 years to go to trial only makes it more difficult to get a conviction.

  2. Storm says:

We MUST HAVE a prompt death penalty after every murder conviction. It is the only way to stop the killing of innocents and protect the country.
