600 pounder seeks assistance for surgery

Mobility comes naturally to the average person but when obesity sets in and is complicated by other medical conditions, life’s daily movements become a chore.

Meet twenty-nine year old Llewlyn Meighan of Castle Street. He tips the scales at six hundred pounds and says he’s in dire need of two surgeries; a gastric bypass and the removal of two growths, one on each leg. Meighan, who stands six feet tall, told News Five that five years ago he was a svelte three hundred pounds but a year ago discovered the growth known as a Lymphoedema.

“Well while it was growing it started out to me as the size of a grapefruit. I use to go to the health center and see the doctors about it. But they told me that due to my occupation at that time, which was driving, that was the area that fat stored that I just needed a little exercise and that problem would be solved. But over the period of time I have tried exercising and it wasn’t making any sense. I wasn’t a person who was greedy, it was the timed I eat and basically what I eated.”

“Also with the lack of exercise. I would like to appeal to the public, the ministers and anyone who can to financially assist me in getting my surgery. It is needed to help me get my life back on track because I am very young and I need to get me a nice job and do regular work as people do.”
