17 year old female Guilty of Dangerous Harm

Danya Sankey

A seventeen year old girl is facing prison time for attacking and stabbing twenty year old Teresita Vivas in 2008. The minor, nineteen year old Danya Sankey and eighteen year old Whitney Martinez were jointly charged with Attempted Murder following the incident. Today a jury of seven women and two men acquitted Sankey and Martinez, but found the seventeen year old guilty of the alternative charge, Dangerous Harm. Vivas gave a vivid testimony of what transpired on the night of May twenty-ninth 2008 and she was able to identify the minor and Martinez because she knew them well. Judge Herbert Lord noted, however, that an identification parade should have been held in the case of Sankey, since the victim didn’t know her prior to the incident.

According to Vivas, the minor showed up at her house, started cursing at her and then rode off on a bicycle. Vivas reportedly left home shortly after and was walking on Church Street when she was approached a second time by the seventeen year old. This time the teen was armed with a knife and was accompanied by Martinez and Sankey. Vivas further claims that the minor stabbed her while the others punched her numerous times.  The minor admitted to fighting with Vivas, but denies that she stabbed her. Sankey and Martinez, on the other hand, say they were inside a store when the incident occurred. Justice Lord has deferred sentencing until June twenty-second.

So she will be back out in no time with an even nastier look on her face & probably won’t stop until she kills someone. I hope the reprieve that the other two got will encourage them to stay out of the crap from now on.

Ignorant, anti-social, angry, frustrated, and lazy. Just like the angry and frustrating men that keeps on killing, stealing, and robbing in Belize the women are doing their part to bring an end to themselves and their country.

How sad and weak, but it is real $#!% in Belize that some of the people can get carried away to excess and commit horrible crimes against each other……………….. now, who will be taken care of their kids.

People are the product of their environment. It’s so sad to see that we have environments here in Belize that incline our people towards violence as a means of conflict resolution. Ideally, the young lady charged with the stabbing should be counseled and made to understand why what she did was wrong and unnecessary. Of course, Belize being what it is most people will just see another young, Black face that should be placed in a criminal training academy, or what most know simply as a prison .

Send her to THE SUSTAINABLE REHABILITATION CENTER …aka……..PRISON FARM…….

There she can EARN HER KEEP and CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIETY at NO COST TO TAX-PAYERS.

She can sew UNIFORMS FOR SOME DEPARTMENT, or even BE a COOK……..
THE LEAST SHE CAN DO IS BREAK ROCKS 10 Hrs a day.
