Police seek public’s help to solve second weekend killing
The second murder on Sunday occurred just before eleven that night. According toinvestigators, when they arrived at the corner of North Creek and Central American Boulevard, they saw the body of a man lying under a coconut tree with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the neck. The badly bleeding man was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital but he died while receiving treatment. The deceased was later identified as twenty-four year old construction worker Jermaine Gibson of Neal’s Pen Road. While police do not suspect the killings are related, as in the first case, they are appealing for the public’s assistance in solving the crime.

“I should say to the general public that it may sound alarming that we had two murders on one day and it is of concern to us but we are working hard at it. I’m asking that the public come forward and assist us because that is ninety percent of what we rely on from the Police Department, from the citizens to come in and assist by saying what they saw. You might not have seen everything but what you might have seen might be the piece that I need to assist in solving this case or any of these two cases.”
“Well, that is one of the reasons why we are pressing towards these cameras. That should help us because they will be a direct link to our control room. So without police officers and patrol being physically out there we can monitor certain areas where the cameras will be posted or placed.”
Post mortems on the bodies of both victims have been scheduled for Tuesday.
