Ladyville man charged with burglary

Police have arrested and charged a Ladyville resident with Burglary. This morning nineteen year old Giovanni Mejia appeared in Magistrates’ Court where he pled not guilty and was offered bail of three thousand dollars. On Monday, thirty-one year old Luciano Choc reported to police that his home at the corner of Parrot and Yellowtail streets had been broken into. Choc said he left the premises around ten-thirty that morning and returned later to find that his kitchen door had been pried open. Missing were two thousand nine hundred dollars in cash, a digital camera, and an assortment of jewelry collectively valued at almost eight thousand dollars. Investigations led police to Mejia, who when detained, was carrying five hundred dollars. Mejia will reappear in court on March eighteenth.
