K.H.M.H. loses valuable equipment to thief
More than fifty thousand dollars worth of medical equipment has been stolen from the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital and hospital administrators strongly suspect it was an inside job. According to police reports, during stock taking earlier this month, auditors were unable to locate three electrocardiogram machines and two space lab monitors valued at a total of over fifty-six thousand dollars. The vital signs equipment was last accounted for in September and since then only members of the Supplies Department have had access to the storeroom where the machines were being housed. Tonight we understand that a dozen of each type of the monitors was purchased in August using a million dollar grant from Venezuela and nineteen were immediately distributed to hospitals and clinics. However the missing five were being kept as replacements in case those in operation failed. If you can assist investigators to locate the stolen items, please contact the nearest police station or Crimestoppers.
