Billary pleads guilty in attack on his family

Almost two years ago, thirty-four year old Erna Bethran and her twelve year old son spent two days in the hospital after they were violently attacked by her common-law husband, Alfred Billary. Today they are one day closer to getting justice as this afternoon Billary pled guilty to Grievous Harm against the boy and Use of Deadly Means of Harm against Bethran. He was initially charged with Attempted Murder and Dangerous Harm, but those charges were withdrawn when his guilty pleas were accepted. On April twenty-second, 2006, Bethran came home and found Billary waiting for her with a knife in his hands. A fight ensued during which Billary stabbed Bethran in her stomach and leg and when her son tried to intervene, wounded him in the back. The thirty-two year old will be sentenced on January twenty-fifth by Justice Troadio Gonzalez after the hearing of mitigation pleas.
