Bakers Association: bread prices will go up soon
Following their first meeting of the year, tonight the Bakers Association of Belize is advising consumers that dramatic price hikes in flour could mean a rise in the cost of bread in the very near future. According to the release, while the extra cost of the commodity was anticipated, additional increases in the price of butane and shortening will leave them no option but to pass the bill on to customers. When bread went from one twenty-five to a dollar fifty last November retailers cited similar reasons for the increase.
