Man partially decapitated in Red Bank Village
There is another case of murder to solve. The body of a murdered man was discovered on Monday, one hundred yards into a feeder road in Red Bank Village, Stann Creek. The victim has since been identified as forty-seven year old Luis Maas, a Guatemalan national who lived in the village. Maas was found lying face down in a pool of blood with a large cut wound on his throat and a smaller injury on the left side of his mouth. Police believe that Maas was murdered between the Sunday and Monday. A post mortem was conducted and the Southern Regional Hospital which certified the cause of death to be “Traumatic Asphyxiation due to partial decapitation.” Police investigations continue, but at this point the motive for the killing remains unknown.
