Annual Belize Audubon Society’s Summer Camps

Most school children are now choosing which of the numerous summer camps they will attend. One organization in particular has seven camps in which spaces are still available. The Belize Audubon Society’s annual summer camps cover the jungle and trails for kids and adults. In addition to photography, another annual summer hit is for bird watching. That’s why two very knowledgeable birdmen stopped by our studios to encourage attendance at the Audubon’s programs.

“The deadline for the Belize Audubon Summer camp programs is fast approaching and I’m here to just encourage Belizeans to sign up for these fulfilled and quite educational summer camps. Our summer camp involves photography for kids and adults, bird watching for all ages. The bird camps will be led by Rudy Burgos or ‘Rudy-bird’ himself. We have prowling with the jaguars summer camp at Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary. We have exploring the ecosystem summer camp at the Institute of Mexico. We have some wetland summer camps at Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary and then we have two other camps that we want people to come out and participate. It’s just an opportunity for Belizeans to learn Belize and understand the ecosystems and bio-diversity of Belize.”

“It’s the first and last Sunday of July. Now I encourage people to come out and watch birds. This is not science it is just plain pure enjoyment watching birds—and there are a lot of birds to see in Belize City.”

“Cameras, binoculars, but a lot of things are just easy to see. People don’t realize that you don’t need a lot of equipment even your little phone cameras is good to watch birds. But the idea is come and enjoy the birds; there is always something to see.”

“One dollar, one dollar only. It’s just something to keep up whatever cost—one dollar per person—young old and in between. And it’s Belize City.”
