Attorney says Telemedia enforcement order is a formality

So why is the government keeping Dean Boyce out of Telemedia after conceding to defeat to Friday evening? It’s all based on a technicality. Lengthy judgments, such the one hundred and forty-nine page decision, are usually accompanied by an additional document, stating clearly the winner and loser in the case. That order is prepared by the attorneys, signed off and filed in court, but since it was missing from Friday’s judgment, GOB is saying there is no formal order from the court. But according to Attorney Eamon Courtenay, the order is only a formality and the ruling is immediately effective. He says it’s a minor kink that will be ironed out soon, even though government attorney, Lois Young, left the country on Sunday.

“So in addition to the judgment you have the formal order. Now, Belizeans should not be fooled. Mr. Barrow knows that once a judgment is handed down, it takes immediate effect. The formality of getting that order is that, a formality. So they are saying “Oh, you don’t have the order and therefore there is no order from the Court of Appeal. They know that that is not true. What they have done is to use that technicality to go in, as I said, at midnight on Friday and we have already been made to understand some of what has been done and why it has been done and why it was necessary to do it with security forces. So that technicality is going to be cleared up and we are going to see whether that technicality having been cleared, whether the security forces of this country under the direction of the government will still maintain unlawful possession of that company.”

“How quickly will that technicality be turned over by the courts?”

“Well, we had to chase Miss Lois Young all over the place to find her and eventually she was given the draft order. She took it and we understand that she left the country on Sunday and that she has left it with her office and that it will be handed over to the—we’re waiting to get it back from the government.”
Although I don’t live in Belize, when i read the news last night befor going to bed, this situation about Dean Borrow up set me so much i could hardly sleep, and when I posted my first response I did not see the channel 7 report on the matter where it stated that a senior Police officer said that he would respect the ODERS of the court. Who did this clown swore to serve? Dean Borrow? This ……… should be arrested and charge for TREASON. but who will arrest him? We use the be the envy of law and order in the region, now I’m sure we are a laughing stock. And this is the same Dean Borrow that attended a meeting on Friday about security for the region. FOLK BACK THERE, IF THIS IS NOT A SHOT ACROSS THE BOWE TO SHOW THAT YOU ALL ARE NOT SAFE WITH THIS EGOTISTICAL JERK AS YOUR LEADER, THEN YOU ALL BETTER PRAY THAT GOD WILL TAKE THE BLINDERS OFF YOU ALL MINDS TO INCREASE UNDERSTANDING. Since the police does not have to respect the orders of the court, then you all should march on the prison and demand that they release your relatives.And all of you that have a date to appear in court fo answer to some charge(s) tell the court that you will not show up because you are a citizen like Borrow who does not have to obey the order of the court.
MR BARROW, YOU NEED PRAYERS TO HEAL YOUR SICK MIND, ( SERIOUSLY). Can anyone tell that I’m really pist off with this man’s action? Does the country need this kind of behavour from the head of the nation, on top of all the lawleness taking place in the country at this time?
Roy Yates: Unfortunately the Police Department serves the one that is in power. We saw the same thing when the previous government was in power. Nobody did anything when they were using the Venenzuelan money for campaigning purposes. All my neighbors got some of that money and the ones that did not refused to go to the polls. Anyways, the Police Department needs the balls to stand up for what they are suppose to do.
