Boyce Board speaks on indemnification

Dean Boyce continues to operate his parallel Telemedia office, issuing correspondences as Executive Chairman of the company. Today he reacted to a statement made on Monday by Prime Minister Dean Barrow, to the effect that GOB will indemnify Telemedia employees and any parties that do business with the utility company at the instruction of the government appointed board. According to Boyce, the PM has no statutory authority to indemnify any individual or business from legal action, unless a law is passed in the National Assembly. Boyce bases his argument on part nine; sections two, three and four of the Constitution. The Board calls the PM’s commitment completely worthless and reminds the public that the former directors, led by Net Vasquez, have no authority to speak or contract for Telemedia.

Sam, you could be right. Since the Police will do as he pleases, and his so call Cabinet will rush through any stupid piece of legislation, what would stop him from doing just what you’ve indicated.

What didn’t we all understand when the PM stated that he was going to get draconian on us?
