Rueben Price charged for murder of SJCJC student

Rueben Price

On Sunday night a student was brutally murdered and today another student was charged with his killing. Around eight-thirty that night eighteen year old Steven Perez was on Dolphin Street when he was shot on the chest, abdomen and wrist. The St. John’s Junior College student succumbed to his injuries at the KHMH shortly after. And after three days of investigations, Rueben Price, a student and resident of Cemetery Road was charged with a single count of murder. He appeared unrepresented before the Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer where no plea was taken and he was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until July twenty-seventh. The motive for the murder is not known, however, police believes he was mistakenly killed.

Now students are killing students, the gangster mentality has polluted our students minds; the future looks dark for the youths. Not to sound prejudice but when you look at the victims they are of black descent 85% of the time. We are killing each other all over the world, this gangster mentality is like a genocide that is reaking havoc on the black race. I quote the words of Bob Marley ” wake up and live” we have lost 400 million to slavery and now we are killing each other. Our forefathers who fought for us to enjoy the freedom we have now are terribly dissapointed.
