400 pound manatee washes up on shore
Mariners have often been asked to be aware while maneuvering their boats into harbor. The request is not only for the safety of boat passengers but also of sea life. Belize City’s harbor is a regular thoroughfare for manatees. Many manatee deaths this year have been attributed to careless mariners whose boat propellers hit the large mammal. Unfortunately, this morning residents who live near the Mexican Institute found a large four hundred pound manatee near the seawall. Although the sea was choppy the animal was very visible to passersby who frequent the area for their morning walks.

Ridiculous! We all have to share this planet, somehow we human behave as though it is only for us. We need to start issuing fines to mariners caught misbehaving on the seas.
