    Dear PM Barrow,
We the citizens of Belize did not elect you to change our constitution. If I remember correctly you swore to uphold the constitution of Belize and to serve us being subject to the constitution as your supreme authority. You have failed in this respect and I now am asking you to either leave the constitution alone and and serve the people as you were elected to do or resign from office if you have lost interest in serving us. what you cannot do is serve yourself and your interests. The constitution is not up for any amendment so please comply with the job you were elected to do.
You are a complete disappointment to most of us and where i once had high hopes for Belize with you as Prime Minister i am now totally disappointed and i think you need to resign from politics completely. I can’t believe every member of your cabinet is in support of this and if they all are then you all need to resign. What next PM Dictatorship?
    Respectfully
    Emilio Zabaneh
and I am not ashamed or afraid to list my name because with you we only have worse to get.

Emilio, I agree with you. He is a shame and disgrace to the people of Belize. That big head he has is filled with garbage. He needs to be thrown out of office as his ego will never allow him to leave office. He is probably searching for a way to remain there indefinitely. Something must be done to stop him before friday, g=however drastic it may be!. He is completely out of control! Belize needs help and I hope all the international agencies are aware of this. Someone should leak this to all the international news, CNN, BBc, FOX ABC now.

What makes you think Barrow meant anything he said, when he said it BEFORE he WON…..Stop Voting. Best decision you can make…let them start begging to serve us..how about that

  4. Vuk says:

    To Mr. Zabaneh:

The constitution of Belize is like every other constitution that exists in the world; it is a document that is subject to amendment and will remain so. Otherwise, it will cease to be relevant to future generations, which will cause one of those future generations to replace it with either a new constitution or a set of basic laws that would be conductive to the situations prevailing in their place in time. So, I see your request as being even more threatening to the constitution that you claim to be in defence in, as it removes possibility of even keeping it relevant by way of amending it.

And, in regard to the subject at hand:

As I have stated before, I agree with the intent behind this amendment, although, like many others, I am concerned about the precedent that it is setting.

  5. Roy Yates says:

Many of us belizeans that came and will come to the USA came here to better ourselves on wayor the other. Unfortunately many chose the low road. And the majority just got busy acquiring much of the material possesionsthey long for and paid little or no attention to what America is all about, because of the many distractions. When I came to this country I had no interest in Politics until I meet a gentleman that was a serious Democrat. As time went by I decide to read the American constitution, Bil of Rights and Amendments. I also looked into the back ground of the Founding Fathers and did some readng up on the Magna Carta.

The point that I want to make here is that I don’t believe that there is anything wrong with amending the constitution; because I believe that the best constitution that was ever written, was amended as is shown by the amendments of the American constitution, but its the manner in which the constitution is amended that is raising all this roncus in Belize. Its clear that instead of the amendment been of greater value to the complexity of a changing society, the amendment seem to push society backward. Its always been said that its not what we do, but how its been done. Folks, note that politics is serious business. It caused the life of one of the outstanding father of the American constitution, and he lost his life in a gun battle, and the same thing happen to his son; as things do get heated on the political battle field.

There are laws and there are laws, but there must be room for a third party in between to hopefully render impartial ruling of the written law. But Mr. Borrow is saying that there is no room for such third legal interpriter; BUNK. Need I say, that the constitusion must be taken seriously. This business of jumping up in a few two bit dabate by folks that are not of the correct mental temperment to tamper with the constitution is dangerous. The constitution is to be use as the test of good or bad law(s). not the other way around.
