Corozal teen dies in Northern Highway traffic accident
A head on collision on the Northern Highway has cost a Corozal teenager his life. According to police reports, shortly before ten on Thursday night, an Isuzu Trooper and a Dodge Dakota collided on the curve between miles eighty-two and eighty-three. As a result, eighteen year old Elber Guerra, his cousin, twenty-two year old Elgir Guerra, who had been travelling in the Dodge, and Emilio Villamil, the driver of the Isuzu, were transported to the Corozal hospital with head and body injuries. But despite doctors’ efforts, Elber Guerra later succumbed to his wounds. The other two injured men remain hospitalized tonight and police say investigations into the cause of the accident continue.
