Common-law wife of B.D.F. to stand trial for manslaughter
The common-law-wife of deceased B.D.F. Lance Corporal, Shamir Henry, will stand trial on a charge of manslaughter for allegedly stabbing him to death. That decision was handed down late on Tuesday evening in a paper committal by Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer. LeShawn Lino’s attorney, Carlo Mason, who was absent from that hearing, did not challenge the facts in the case against her. Prosecutor, Sergeant Hector Rodriguez, is relying on ten statements to prove his case, including an account of the incident from the main witness Allan Baddit as well as a statement from Lino’s father. On September second, the couple had a domestic dispute at the B.D.F. Housing area in Lord’s Bank. The heated argument escalated and it is reported that Henry started beating Lino. But the alleged abuse victim grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed Henry once to the neck. He tried to run away but collapsed a few houses away and died shortly after. Lino is currently out on bail of five thousand dollars and her case comes up in the October session of the Supreme Court.

Easy SELF DEFENCE no man should be beating on any woman
Self-defence why put his hands on her. Real men walk away and cool down. This domestic violence really needs addressing. The same go for women who lash out on their men first in heated arguments. STOP IT NOW.
Why is this case brought to trial when so many cold blooded murders are not even brought to trial as a result of witness intimidation.I guess this young lady is going to be used as a skapegoat.
We should be thankful that she rid us off of a BULLY.
My heart goes out to the young lady as well as her family I know what they are going through because my family has been through the exact same situation in the late 1990’s. My aunt was brutally murdered by her husband. The jerk shot her several times and yet reloaded his gun and went after her a second time to finish her off. Men who abuse women should be killed the same way or be burned whichever one comes first it makes no difference to me. I have no respect for abusive men. Belize have to do better when it comes to protecting its women. I would like to know what Mr. Henry’s people did for this young lady when their family was beating the crap out of her? I know they are putting all the blame on this young lady what about him? We tried to do everything we could for my aunt when she was going through what she was going through. We even pressed charges against the husband and what did she do she went and drop all charges against him. He was sentenced to prison for twenty five , but we were told that he got into a fight in prison and was supposedly killed if that is the case burn in hell.
That’s called Self Defense. she shouldn’t even be appearing at court, people don’t have any shame now a days. i’d like to know how his family would feel if it was the other way around. you don’t fight rites for a criminal ; the instigator. you give part to the one being abused. hum (Sigh) but this is Belize.
Good for his @$$!!! I hope they release her…..i hate..!;;;d up men who beat women and get away with it. Then when the woman stands up they want to charge her…what the F is wrong with the law…Do your HW…find out the truth and release this woman!!!!
