Marijuana plate of food to prison case dismissed
Also from the courts, twenty-four year old Stacey Belisle is tonight a free woman after charges of marijuana possession against her were dismissed today. Earlier this year, on February sixteenth, it is alleged that Belisle approached an officer responsible for the transportation of inmates and asked if he could deliver a plate of food to her boyfriend, Alexander Underwood, at the Hattieville Prison. The officer searched the package and found thirty-one point seven grams of cannabis hidden inside a foam container, placed in three transparent plastic bags. Belisle appeared before Magistrate Roberto Ordonez today where the prosecution failed to provide an identification of her. It also failed to present the plates as evidence and did not establish a chain of custody of the controlled drug. With that the magistrate ruled that Belisle had no case to answer before dismissing the charges.
