Shooting Victim, Troy Bowen, dies from injuries

Also on Tuesday night, shooting victim Troy Bowen succumbed to gunshot injuries. In early August, the twenty three year old stevedore was shot to the right side of his head. He survived that incident.  But Bowen was a marked man and before eight a.m. on August twenty fourth a gunman was waiting for him at the corner of Black Orchid Street and Marigold Lane. At least ten shots were fired at him and according to the police they have arrested two suspects for his murder.

“This morning a little after ten, Troy Bowen who was shot on the twenty-fourth of August last week, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the karl Heusner memorial Hospital.  I know that we charged Gilbert Craig Junior on yesterday’s date for attempt murder and deadly means of harm. His charges will be upgraded to murder.”

“Any idea of the motive for that crime?”

“Well investigators still haven’t disclosed the motive for that particular murder.”

Thirty-two year old Theodore Andrews and twenty-four year old Gilbert Craig of Belize City were charged with Attempted Murder, Use of Deadly Means of Harm and Dangerous Harm in connection with Bowen’s shooting. The charges against both men are now expected to be upgraded to Murder. In the past six days, five persons have been killed by gun violence. Over the weekend, Maurice Neal, Stephan Flowers and John Garbutt were all killed in the crime wave.
