Safiyyah finds plenty pre-independence activities
It’s a month of celebrations and that means there are many activities to attend. This includes sound fest, queen of the bay and much more. Safiyyah has the details.
Hey guys, I’m Safiyyah and this is What’s Happening Belize and the September celebrations have begun.
Tonight inside the City Center the eighth annual Sound Fest will be held. This sound fest will feature artists like Melonie Gillett, Tanya Carter, Chico Ramos and many others. The fun will begin at nine p.m. There will be lots of food and drinks on sale. So check it out.
This weekend at Old Belize the Belize volleyball Association will be having their final stop of the 2009 Belikin Beach Volleyball tour. The games will begin at one p.m. on Saturday and ten a.m. on Sunday.
On Saturday night the prestigious Queen of the Bay Pageant will be held inside the City Center. This is the sixty-fourth annual Queen of the Bay and by the looks of the ten delegates this will definitely be one you won’t want miss.
Also on Saturday the SJC President’s Alumni Awards Banquet will be held at seven p.m. at the Radisson Fort George Hotel. This is an opportunity for old friends of SJC Alumnae to get together and talk about old times. So Head over to the Radisson and join in on the Fun.
Later, Saturday night you can check out the Palm Island, where they will be having a dancehall event called Over Proof. This Party will feature Tagg International, Belizean Movements, Alliance Crew, Madd Squad and Stereo One.
On the ninth night the place to be is inside the City center for the Soca Bash featuring Alison Hinds and her band. Also performing will be Chico Ramos and reckless. The music will be provided by DJ Busch, DJ Motion, Tagg International and Belizean Movements.
Also on the ninth night Storks Club will be having a Big Bash featuring DJ Rash. They will have balloon drops, Jello shots, lots of prizes and surprises. The first ten ladies to enter will get in free. Check it out.
On the tenth of September, it will kick off with the official ceremony being held at the Memorial park which will be immediately followed by the citizens Parade through the Principal streets of Belize City.
Later on during the day you can pass by the Multi-cultural municipal fair being held at the MCC. Along with the games, rides, food and drinks you can enjoy the third annual battle of the bands competition. This fair will run from eleven a.m. until eleven p.m.
During the tenth you can also head over to Crocland for their huge pool party featuring Tagg international.
