Online poll says take 9th Amendment to referendum
This week’s question to our viewers was: Should the ninth amendment be put on hold until a referendum is held to determine the people’s will on the constitutional change? Seventy-eight percent voted yes on our e-poll while twenty-two percent said no. On our blog, the comments were also overwhelmingly in favor of a referendum. One viewer commented that “if the ninth is as good as government is saying, why are they afraid to send it to a referendum? The ninth is a very high risk for Belize.”
The changes that are taking place in our country only take place on the books. Only the books are changed but the minds of the people are not changed.
I live in San Pedro and someone decided that my voice and the voice of 20,000 islanders does not count. That is bad but there is nothing i can do…and now i get a phone call from a friend in Punta Gorda telling me that he just got paid to support the 9th ammendment. Things are so bad in Belze..no jobs..that it is easy to purchase people who have no idea what the amemendent is about but who just get paid a couple of dollars to support it. How sad for the politicians that they have to sink that low. Will they also pay people to vote yes or no if we take this to referendum..hmm..i wonder…

The International Criminal Court needs to be involved in Barrows crimes.
When this 9th Amendment passes whatch: come election time there will be those who will be arrested just in time so they cannot cast a vote only to be released after the votes are in.
This dam 9th Amendment will be used in every which way to victimize people.
My centiments are the same if it is so good for us what is the rush and why not giver every Belizean a chance to weigh in? What are they afraid of? By the way all you poor Belizeans who will vote for it only so Belizeans can own the utilities you will not get the chance because all the rich Belizeans with political connections will buy it all up before you can even get wah few preckelenks to but two shares.
When ever anyone is beating down your door and is rushing you to buy something: buyer bewear! It is never what they tell you!
