1st Prime Minister George Price still hospitalized
Since Wednesday of this week, we have been reporting on the condition of former Prime Minister George Price, the Father of the Nation and Leader Emeritus of the People United Party. Following his fall at his home on Pickstock Street, the national hero has undergone surgery for a blood clot to his head. He remains gravely ill and is in induced coma at the Universal Health Care Partners where doctors continue to monitor his critical condition. The family has asked well wishers to keep him in prayers. Price is ninety-two years old; he is also regarded as a national hero having led the struggle and the attainment of independence on September twenty-first, 1981. The party which he co-founded turns sixty-one on September twenty-ninth.
This pm spends over a million dollars of the porridge people’s money to send his friend Rodwell Williams to the hospital in Miami and he leaves the the father of our nation to die in the Belize hospital what does this tell you belizeans it tells me he is a big bigot and racist.
BEST WISHES SIR
Hey Rod, it’s nice to hear people caring about the right honourable Price, but the man’s party has enough money themselves to take him out, plus we don’t even know if it’s even possible to move him out of the country. He might not be able to be moved let’s find out the facts brother, then pass judgement!
ROD you are an @##. So its the PM fault huh. Dude grow a brain will you. Instead of wishing well for Mr. Price, you bring a political rant. May God bless you my friend bc you need help.
Very stupid comment Mr. Rod.
@Rod Please pray, you have issues. I have been reading your blogs and it really sounds as if it is coming from someone that is unstable and racist. Pray and ask God for wisdom he will bless you with it, then maybe you will be able to use this media as intended, useful intelligent comments.
I have read from Facebook that Mr. Price has passed. I can not find anything on any news source. I am sorry to hear this and convey my deepest sympathies to his family and to the people of Belize.

Its a sad day in Belize’s history. My most sincerest sympathies to his family and I believe to all of true Belizeans in extension as he was Belize. He lived a good life and has left a mark behind, one we should be proud of. I remember vividly once when I was a kid, my brother and I stood by East Block and infront of us were some cigarette butts, and he came out and inquired why we had not picked them up. I responded “we didn’t throw them, don’t smoke”. He said “you could have still picked it up” and he bent over, got the cigarette butts and carried on. I will never forget that. Nor will I forget the fact that if he met you on the road, he would stop to give you a ride.
Long live Belize! Long live the memory of Right Honourable George Cadle Price.
Honourable George Cadle Price -A man worthy of great admiration and respect. Though he lived and worked humbly, he has great stature. The Staff & Management of Mount Carmel Credit Union offers condolences to the family of this wonderful person who is etched in the memories and history of belizeans. Rest in Peace Honourable Price. Que descanse en paz Honorable Price.
May Belize mourn in peace the Honorable George Price. May the world honor a leader of last century emerging countries. The condolences to his family, friends and ancien officers who worked with him for so many years for the future of a respectable nation in the Caribbean basin.
Three years ago I have the privilege of studying at UB, and I could feel the respect the old man had in his beloved country. RIP Mr. Price, you were an example for all belizeans.
R.I.P Mr. Price….Very sad day for us Belizeans…Just know that we are forever grateful for you and to you…God Bless you and God Bless your loved ones!!!
Everyone is beating up on Rod but the same as you are entitled to your opinion so is he. Rod’s point is well taken. If it is true that the Prime Minister used money from Belize, to personally, help a friend that is completely wrong.
Don’t be too quick to bark someone down if the facts are there. Mr. Price, like any Belizeans deserve a chance to live. We do not decide who gets to live or die because we don’t want to spend government money. Shame on so called leaders!
The Prime Minister because he is suppose to be in charge should be the leader in decisions like this. If Mr. Price was not able to move, that is why there are private jets and helicopters to move him. So that is hog wash. Only in Belize do we find such incompetence, if it was America; there would be no doubt that help would be extended to him or to the person on the street. That is what makes America different.
Mr. Price served his country well and should have been helped extremely well. If it was not for him many people would not be living the way they are now.
His family also has a role to help him. Where are they?
In conclusion, I want to give my earnest respect to a man, Mr. George Cadle Price, that poured out love to everyone. He did not see us as someone of a different color or ethnic group. He was the people’s leader, no matter which party is in office. No one could ever put their foot in this man’s shoe.
He was the greatest person for Belize and now that he has gone but will never be forgotten, I hope that it is not the complete end of Belize.
We must now celebrate a life well lived. I give thanks to Mr. Price for all he did. His work here on earth is over but he will remain in the hearts, souls, and minds of many who loved him so dearly.
My condolences to Mr. Price family.. He have lived a long and fruitful life, he have run the race and finished his course, may he rest in peace…
