George Price laid to rest at Lord Ridge Cemetery

The casket draped with the Belizean flag took hours to arrive at the Lord Ridge Cemetery where Price had chosen as his final resting place. Family and friends were stoic as the first prime minister was interned. News Five’s Jose Sanchez reports.

George Cadle Price was buried on Monday. Students from Belize City schools lined up on the Western Highway to greet the casket before it entered the Lord Ridge Cemetery. The casket was brought in by B.D.F. soldiers after which a reading was done by Bishop Wright at the grave site.

Bishop Dorrick Wright

“Let us pray for Brother George to our Lord Jesus Christ who said I am the resurrection and the life. The man who believes in me will live even if he dies and every living person who puts his faith in me will never suffer eternal death. Lord you wept at the death of Lazarus, your friend. Comfort us in your sorrow. We pray to the lord. Lord hear our prayer.”

The body was lowered into the family plot by B.D.F. soldiers. The Belize flag was folded and handed to the Governor General who in turn handed it over to his sister, Jane Usher, Price’s Sister. Members of Price’s family sat while others stood and sang church hymns. Wreaths were laid by the Governor General, the Prime Minister, the Leader of the Opposition and the chairman of the Honors Committee. A fly over in a V formation was conducted by a fleet of Maya Island Air planes. A twenty one-canon salute echoed the grief felt by the nation. Reporting for News Five, Jose Sanchez.

To the memory of the RT. HONORABLE GEORGE CADLE PRICE. May you rest in peace.

    Meditad O pueblos todos
    meditad O mundo entero.
    Del polvo fuimos formado
    y al polvo seremos tornado.
    Asi dice el Creador.

    Nuestros dias son muy cortos
que se pasan como un sueno.
    Nuestra vida es una historia
    muy llena de sin sabores
    de tristezas y de dolores.

    Como la hierba del campo
    que florece en la manana
    mas cuando llega la tarde
    su belleza se marchita
    y todo desaparece.

Mas el que cree en Jesus
en memoria de Dios siempre estara.
Y el mismo Senor lo guiara.
    Cuando llegemos a Sion
ante el trono del Supremo Rey
    un himno nuevo entonaremos.
    Cuando llegemos a Sion.

Caos…I think the BDF did well they had to be standing in the heat for hours and hours not mentioning that it started to rain when they left the morgue give them a break. Protocol GG presents flag.

The eye is the body’s lamp.

If your eyes are good, your body will be filled with light.

If your eyes are bad, your body will be filled with darkness.

But if your Light is Darkness, then how deep will the darkness be?
