Second escaped prisoner back behind bars
The second of four escaped prisoners is back behind bars at Hattieville Prison. Kolbe Foundation officials have confirmed that Rupert Manzanero turned himself in to police in the Cayo district this morning in the company of one of his brothers. Manzanero had been on the run since he and three other prisoners escaped from the multi-max section of the Hattieville Correctional facility in the wee hours of October fourteenth during a series of blackouts. Meanwhile, Terry Bainton, who was apprehended on Antelope Street in Belize City yesterday, today had an additional five-year sentence slapped onto his current eleven-year sentence for Burglary. Bainton, who had been sighted in the Stann Creek District since his escape, reportedly committed another break-in at a business in Dangriga last week and pleaded guilty to the charge today. The other two men still at large are Allan Cal and Gilbert Requena. The men reportedly cut themselves free from their jail cells using hacksaws that other prisoners had left lying around on the compound after doing plumbing.
