Two cases of carnal knowledge reported in Belmopan

Two men are wanted by police in connection with reports filed by separate pregnant girls in Belmopan. In the company of a social worker, a twelve year old girl told cops in the capital that over the summer she met a Corozal man named “Luis”. The two became friends and then in June, the child and “Luis” grew intimate. When the girl realised she was pregnant, she turned to authorities for help. Police are now looking for the mystery man. While finding the right “Luis” in Corozal might prove challenging, investigators believe they’ll have the second wanted man in custody by tomorrow morning. According to a fourteen year old from Independence Village, she spent the summer with family members in Belmopan where she met an older male student. The minor says on June sixth, they had sex at his home and she is now four months pregnant. Upon arrest, both men are expected to be charged with carnal knowledge of a minor as the legal age of consent for sexual intercourse is sixteen years old.
