Another murder case folds as witness clams up
It’s not the first time and won’t be the last … as two men charged with murder walked down the steps of the Supreme Court free men today after a key witness failed to testify. Crown Counsel Tracey Sosa entered a motion of nolle prosequi at the opening of the trial of Roger Batty Junior and Kyle Edwards Junior. Both were charged in July of 2005 with the murder of Alberto Saragosa Junior. When the main witness failed to show up at court, Sosa felt she had no choice but to abort the prosecution. Edwards, who lives on Reggae Street and Batty, of Kraal Road were both eighteen at the time they were charged with the homicide which occurred on July sixth, 2005 just off Caesar Ridge Road near the Esso oil depot.
