City woman victim of rape, robbery
It was a frightening attack on a Belize City woman and her seven year old son and police have yet to apprehend any suspects. According to the twenty-eight year old victim, she and her son were home sleeping around one on Friday morning when they were awakened by a noise and confronted two men inside the house. One of the assailants is described as dark complexioned; the other as fair.
According to the woman, the dark skinned man grabbed her and held her around the neck from behind and began choking her while he demanded money. When she told the man that she had no cash, he asked for sex. When she refused and resisted she was forced inside the bathroom where the fair skinned man then unzipped his pants, removed her underwear, and had sexual intercourse with her against her will.
The woman says after the man assaulted her, she was then hit on the right side of the forehead with an unidentified object that caused a wound. She told police that she pretended to be unconscious and that is when both men left. But the woman’s ordeal was not over as she soon discovered that her assailants also made off with appliances and clothing valued at twenty-four thousand dollars, as well as her 1995 Ford Escort, valued at seven thousand five hundred dollars. According to the police they have since recovered the stolen car and it is being processed for evidence that can lead them to the criminals.
