“And these were for all Mastercard customers, our standard, our American Airlines and our gold credit card customers. And for every fifty dollar purchase that they made on the card they got a change into the raffle. And we had about ten winners who won about seven hundred dollar credits unto their card but our grand prize winner was a Ms. Nerida DePaz. She is here from Belize City and what she won was a seven night cruise trip for two persons in the Caribbean and we will actually be flying her to and from the Dominican Republic which is where the cruise is leaving from. Ports of call will include St. Martin, Dominica, Grenada, Venezuela and Aruba and that’s all meals and entertainment included.”

In addition to the cruise, today Scotiabank and American Airlines also awarded the grand prize winner of two hundred and fifty thousand air miles and two one-day passes at the Admiral’s Club to Corozaleno, Roy White. Second prize went to Belize City’s Marcia Bouloy. She won one hundred thousand air miles and one Admiral’s Club day pass.

But believe it or not, Scotia wasn’t done yet. This afternoon, Dean Morrison, Accounts Manager for Grace Kennedy Belize, took home the thirty thousand dollars he won in the bank’s cash raffle.

“We had a campaign last year where we gave out seventy-five thousand dollars cash prize for people who saved with us. This year we decided to instead of just giving one prize, we gave three prizes away and so today we’re awarding three different customers with ten thousand, twenty thousand, and thirty thousand dollars cash prize for a campaign we ran from April to the end of June and any customer that had a balance of a thousand dollars at the end of the month would have gotten one raffle and if you open a new account you would have gotten two ballots.”

All winners were selected through electronic balloting. The second prize of twenty thousand dollars went to Orange Walk businessman Juan Blanco, while Blue Bird’s Zhenhong He is ten thousand dollars richer. As part of yet another promotion, over the next three months Scotiabank will be giving away thirty Motorola KRZR cell phones to its customers.
