Two missing on boat from Glover’s Reef

Details are sketchy but reports out of Dangriga tonight are that two people are missing at sea. According to our sources, this morning Earl Jacobs and his boss, Kendra Schofield left Long Caye at Glover’s Reef around six-thirty this morning heading for Dangriga, but they have not been seen or heard from since. The pair was travelling in a Colombian skiff with twin two hundred horsepower engines and it is believed that they are carrying a cell phone, but up to news time tonight attempts to contact them have been fruitless. After it became clear something was very wrong, Schofield’s husband Jim hired two helicopters to search for the missing vessel but there were no sightings today. The search is expected to resume tomorrow. The Schofields are co-owners of the “Off the Wall” dive centre on the Glover’s Reef Atoll.
