Stabbing Victim tells police who did it

Leon Hinds was stabbed three times on Wednesday night in an area near 88 Shopping Center on Central American Boulevard. The blade caught him in the neck, chest and lung. His family says they know he is far from perfect, but he is their brother and he didn’t deserve the vicious wounds that almost took his life. They were very upset when News Five spoke to them because the people who could provide answers were not speaking. Late this afternoon, Hinds’ brother and sister say that he is awake and happy to be alive. Sonia Hinds Davis also said that the police will soon arrest some suspects.

Sonia Hinds Davis, Sister of Leon Hinds

“Today he really progressed from yesterday to today.”

Jose Sanchez

“Can he speak?”

Sonia Hinds Davis

Sonia Hinds Davis

“Yes he can speak. Surprised I came in at 11:30 this morning and he had a really good conversation.”

Jose Sanchez

“Can you share some of what he spoke about?”

Sonia Hinds Davis

“Well we spoke about what happened. And we had the police came him and interviewed him as well. We had spoken to his common law at the same time too and she is pretty shaken up.”

Jose Sanchez

“Ok so it seems at least there some communication between you the family and his common law, so that is better.”

Sonia Hinds Davis

“Yes it is better because yesterday we had more questions than answers. And today we have majority of our questions answered.”

Jose Sanchez

“When it comes to the police and the report, did he say definitively what happened?”

Sonia Hinds Davis

“Yes he did right in front of his common-law. They both gave their statements to the police and it’s the same person that we communicated from yesterday.”

Jose Sanchez

“When it comes to the actual prognosis, what are the doctors saying regarding his recovery and how long will it take or is he still doing bad?”

Adrian Hinds

Sonia Hinds Davis

“No, he is not. His prognosis is very good. He’ll be in here for at least the next two to three weeks, but his prognosis is good. And all brothers and sisters are here—all nine of us.”

Adrian Hinds, Brother of Leon Hinds

“Well I just hope dehn find out who do that to ahn because I know that the man noh innocent and thing but ih neva deserve to get that check. Just want dehn find who do it because then you noh want people start to take things ina dehn own hand check. And the way how Belize deh, you can’t deal with them speed yet.”

Jose Sanchez

“So no arrests or charges as yet?”

Sonia Hinds Davis

“Well by this evening, the police they should have the three guys in custody.”

Hinds’ family is optimistic about his health and that police are making progress with their investigations.
