Robber caught after using toy gun
A suspected robber who used a toy gun to commit his crime has been caught in the act. Police report that on Saturday night the proprietor of V.I.P. Beauty Care on Queen Street was confronted by a man with his face covered by a rag who brandished a small black handgun and demanded money. After some delay caused by the proprietor and her mother throwing the cash on the floor and into a garbage bin, the assailant finally managed to get eighty-five dollars into a bag and turned to leave. That’s when forty-six year old Roberto Barrios ran out of luck as he was met near the door by police officers who took him into custody. His gun turned out to be a plastic toy. Barrios, a resident of Amara Avenue, has been charged with Robbery.
