Turneffe Island Lodge robbed of outboards
Thieves looking for some holiday cash targeted Turneffe Island Lodge before Independence Day weekend and relieved the resort of a number of outboard engines and accessories valued at fifty-four thousand dollars. Manager Tania Batista told police that the theft occurred between nine-thirty on Tuesday night and five-thirty on Wednesday morning. Upon gaining entry to one of the buildings at the remote fishing resort, thieves stole four Yamaha forty horsepower outboard engines, each valued at over thirteen thousand dollars, along with assorted spare parts and a gas tank. Police are urging the public not to purchase the stolen items and instead report anyone offering them a deal that seems too-good-to-be true.
