Businesswoman, Loretta Palacio is in the news tonight for back-payments in GST. Palacio appeared before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer where GST personnel requested a payment of eighty-nine thousand, six hundred and ninety nine dollars in unpaid sales taxes for the periods 2009 and 2010. The initial amount was sixty-eight thousand dollars, but that has increased because of interest of eleven point five percent and penalty fees. In court this morning, Palacio asked to be given time to make the payment; that was granted. The businesswoman was given until December fourteenth to make fifty percent of the payment. Loretta Palacio, along with her husband Dr. Vincent Palacio, is the owner of Total Business Solution which is located at the corner of Manatee Drive and Independence Avenue. Earlier this year, Palacio was again before the court for outstanding monies owed to GST.

GST needs to go into the schools and teach the children what is GST, and how to make sure it is paid to the government. Most people in Belize know ZERO about GST and de help the chinee man get rich.
