Teacher dies in N. Highway accident
A teacher from San Pablo Village in the Orange Walk District is dead following a traffic accident on the Northern Highway. Police believe it was a combination of alcohol and reckless driving that took the life of thirty-seven year old Adriano Nicholson.
Authorities say witnesses told them that around six thirty on Saturday evening they saw a black Mazda pickup travelling at a very high speed between miles sixty-two and sixty-three on the Northern Highway. Reports are that the driver then signalled to turn into a yard but that as he reached the curve he lost control causing the vehicle to overturn. Nicholson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the pickup. The truck then landed on top of him, killing him instantly. Police say their investigation reveals that Nicholson was travelling to Corozal Town following his attendance at a party In San Pablo.
