Shyne to tour in the U.S.?

Remember Shyne? He is the prime minister’s son, who was deported from the United States following a nine year conviction for a shooting incident at a night club in New York. When Shyne landed in Belize, he was soon named Musical Ambassador for Belize and was provided with a diplomatic passport. He then moved to Israel. As a deportee, Shyne could not get back into the U.S., but in an interview with XXL Magazine, Moshe Levi Ben David says that he can enter the U.S. The article says that “I can come to the U.S. as a Diplomat because I’m a Goodwill Ambassador for my country Belize…My job is really to go around the world for Belize and get people to invest in the country and to promote the country. If I came to America on a Shyne Goodwill college tour, where we go to all the colleges and go to the inner cities and went on a peace tour, then it would work…If we did something like that it would be hard for them to say no, but it would have to be something like that on a Goodwill tour.” According to the XXL article, Shyne is on a goodwill tour in Paris, helping to raise money for potential education resource centers in Belize, Brooklyn and Ethiopia.

Another opportunity given to this dirt-bag by his dad’s party. He is only using our country for his own benefit and not because he love our country. What else is new?. All good things must come to an end. It’s just a matter of time.

What an embarrassment made ambassador and given a diplomatic passport, what a shame! He never informed the Belizeans about this. There are far more deserving, non-criminals and educated Belizeans that deserves this. The musicians should make noise about this.

He should complain to the legislature that he did not get to be the family’s Attorney General. It might pay more and he has real legal experience. What is the GOB paying for a music ambassador? Besides salary, first class air tickets are nice, but a private plane would make a stronger statement like air force one. Then countries would know about Belize and our famous singing ambassador.

All the comments posted on here are so negative, and I guess most of the people who posted are ignorant about the facts of his case here in NY. You people are all fallible; Shyne has served his time, why can’t you all let him live his life. He is not a criminal, he worked hard @ his craft, and was able to gain universal recognition and put Bze on the map. If it wasn’t for that one faithful night, (in which he was defending himself), he would have been a superstar by now. My point is that he lost a lot, and the people who are envious of him needs to get a life and let him try to make a comeback.

He has never done anything to promote Belize abroad, nor to aid it in its development music-wise…he is an embarrassment to Belize! As most everyone has rightfully stated, his position as ambassador of music is simply Nepotism at work, a clear attempt at trying to get back in the US by whatever means possible, and a clear exploitation of Belize–that’s it!

the entire country don’t know the guy and that is the problem … yes he served his time and might be a changed man … but Ambassador for a country he is currently not even in and not doing anything to promot his fellow Belizean artist (n there are many) is weak.

For instance, is not the $40,000 being distributed in each constituency likened to the very complaint UDP has always chided George Price for – creating a mendicant society? Sure there are families in each constituency who truly need help but damn…a fish for a day?

as aforementioned,most of the people commenting negatively are ignorant of the facts surrounding his case. these people view shyne through their own preconceive notion about dean barrow. they fail to realize that shyne grew up in a single parent household; that he had pound the pavement for his success. there is a saying that says, as long as u can make it it ny, u can make it anywhers in the world….. the point is he was blessed w/ a god given talent, and because uncle sam wanted to prove a point, he made an example out of him. so to the people who have the brain of an amoeba needs to see the bigger picture.
