P.U.P. and Chamber discuss business
The P.U.P. also announced today that party leader, Francis Fonseca, accompanied by other party officials, including Carolyn-Trench Sandiford and Julius Espat, met with the Executive Council of the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) to engage in a discussion about pressing economic issues. The BCCI Executive, led by President Kay Menzies, dialogued on subjects of investor confidence, tax reform, crime, safety and security. The Chamber pointed out the importance for an input into the annual budget exercise and also highlighted that they will set out policy ideas for improvement for doing business in Belize in an Investment White Paper in February of 2012.
Well we know where they stand now. Why the hell would the Chamber waste time with the Opposition when these guys had no time for them for ten years? But fanatism will never die, and Menzies is die hard blue.
I agree Javier this was a stupid move on the part of the Chamber. They should be nonalined with any political party to start with, but to meet with the opposition was a bonehead move! They need to work with any government that is in power.
People who are so political should not lead out in these positions because they set themselved up for a fall.
