Castle Street resident busted with weed
While on mobile patrol on Thursday morning, police officers on Castle Street spotted a suspicious man carrying a black plastic bag. The man ran upon being spotted and officers caught him on Freetown Road after seeing him throw a bag in a yard. Inside the bag, officers found what appeared to be cannabis. The suspect along with the bag was taken to the Queen Street Police Station where the substance was weighed at two hundred and ninety three grams. The runner has been identified as twenty nine year old Castle Street resident Darrel Cayetano. Earlier today in courtroom number two, Cayetano without legal representation was charged with one count of drug trafficking by Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and he was offered bail in the sum of six thousand dollars plus one surety of the same amount. Up until eleven this morning, Cayetano was unable to meet bail and remains in police custody. His next court date is schedule for February twenty first.
