Suspended election and boundaries officer

There is a firestorm building up in respect of the aspiring U.D.P. town councilor who was caught at the Election and Boundaries office in San Pedro on Tuesday night.   Severo Guerrero was surprised shortly after seven o’clock on the computer viewing the voters list with pen and paper in hand as the deadline for voter’s registration quickly approaches. The images of Guerrero with unimpeded access to the voter’s list, has had an immediate back lash, putting  the integrity of the Elections and Boundaries Department under question. Today, the Chief elections officer, Josephine Tamai, says Merilee Squires, the officer in charge who gave access to Guerrero, has been put on administrative leave pending an investigation. Tamai writes in an e-mail, that Squires was asked and did report to her this morning and admitted that “she was wrong for having the person in the office.” According to Tamai, Squires cannot be posted to any other office as this may further create reasons for concern.
