Mega Bingo is the game with a lucky winner

A Belize City mother of three is the lucky winner of over a hundred thousand dollars of the Mega Bingo Progressive Jackpot on Saturday night. Carina Cruz, who collected her cheque for one hundred and eighteen thousand, four hundred and forty-six dollars, told News Five today that her entire family gathered around the television for the game show and it was sheer excitement as the last few numbers were called. Cruz says her winnings will be invested in her children’s education.

“How did you find out that you won? Do you watch the show?”

“Yes, we were playing the game.”

“So what was it like in your house when you were down to the last few numbers and it looked like you were going to win?”

“It was very excited, very it was very good.”

“So is this something that you guys do together as a family, mega bingo night?”

“Yes, every Wednesdays and every Saturdays. We all get together home and we get our tickets and we start playing.”

“Have you been buying since the start of the show?”

“Yes, ma’am.”

Delahnie Bain

“So have you decided as yet what you’re going to do with all this money?”

Carina Cruz

“Get my house and put aside income for my child’s education. I have two in school and she’s soon going to school too.”

Before taxes, the total jackpot was at one hundred and thirty-nine thousand, three hundred and forty-nine dollars. It now reverts to a hundred thousand dollars for Wednesday night’s game.
