Ombudsman contract not renewed
There’s news tonight that the contract of the Ombudsman, Cynthia Pitts, will not be renewed. Pitts is currently winding down her reports and is clearing her office in Belize City. According to reports, she provided the usual interest to renew her contract but that was not done by the government. So for now, there’s no ombudsman and it’s not known if one will be appointed in the new financial year.
This is the PEOPLE’S WATCHDOG…without the OMBUDSMAN…WHO DO WE TURN TO?????
What watchdog?? I haven’t heard of anything that has been accomplished with this office! This office has no authority! all it can do is make recommendations or requests and WE the tax payers foot the bill!!!
