Culinary experts delight the palate at Taste of Belize
The best of the best culinary experts met to compete against each other on Saturday night for the Belize Tourism Board’s eighth annual ‘Taste of Belize’. And what a showdown it was. There was competition among chefs, bartenders and cake decorators whose biggest goal was to earn bragging rights in their genre, as well as prizes. At the end of the day, Belize City topped three of the four categories. Here are some highlights from the event.

Victor Nal of the Sunset Grill Limited in San Pedro was recognized as the professional chef, while Ernest Bradley of Belize City is the junior professional. Bartender of the year went to Belizean Dreams’ Mariano Coc from Hopkins Village and Teresita Choco of Casa Pan Dulce Bakery walked home with the Cake Decorating title.
