Chuc says his slate will become F.F.B. Executive
The Municipal and General Elections may have the attention of thirty-one constituencies, but there is another election that has the attention of the sporting community. The Football Federation of Belize, FIFA’s agent in Belize, has given notice to its Members of the date for its upcoming Congress as March fifteenth. The Electoral Committee has been accepting nominations for elections to the Executive Committee of the F.F.B. Doctor Bertie Chimilio has held the post of president for the past decade but it is now up for grabs. News Five spoke to Sergio Chuc who has just formed what he deems a winning slate.
Sergio Chuc, Running For F.F.B. Senior Vice President
“Well actually you caught me at the right time because just last night we had a meeting with the district associations and the league and we sat down because we wanted to put one slate together. And after the discussion, a brief discussion, we decided that the slate will be headed by Mister Ruperto Vicente and I’m going to be his senior vice president. Miss Darlene Padron from Orange Walk will be the vice president and the two members are going to be Mister David Jones and Mister Hilberto Muschamp.”
Jose Sanchez
“Are you satisfied with the way the district elections for the different club houses went?”
Sergio Chuc
“Yeah. I am very happy because there were several people who wanted the post as president. We had to compromise because at the end of the day, we felt that the only way to go in and win this election is with a united front so we came together and decided that this will be the strongest slate.”
Jose Sanchez
“Do you expect the entire slate or most of your slate to make it?”
Sergio Chuc
“I’m confident that the entire slate will make it because yesterday we had in attendance sixteen of the twenty votes and they all participated. If we have sixteen of the people who can actually vote supporting us, I think the election is a done deal.”
The F.F.B. Secretariat is accepting nominations until no later than four p.m. on Monday, February sixth.
Its rime for a change! Mr chimilio has been for long period in that positon of president and he has not done anything for our country to success in football soccer! We need a change… out chimilio!!
Yeah but with that slate it would be worst. That slate is totally politics. The minister hand is all over that slate. Bertie chimilio will win easily again. Chuc is business partner with the minister and Darlene is the boss at lands department appointed by the deputy prime minister. David jones and Muschamp are dunce they have no organizational skills. I hope the Premiere league owners do there investigation. Darlene and Chuc owns a team in the Premier league. The district association better come together and do the right thing. They will not be in any decision of football in Belize. Only the top league will benefit. So we will be right where we are today. No development in football. This slate with Chuc is only interested in the Premier league and international football. Not to develop football in Belize.
