Police catch another burglar in Orange Walk

Despite their recent setback, police in Orange Walk have busted their second burglar in less than a week. The accused has been identified as nineteen year old Randy Smith, a resident of the Conch Shell Bay Area in Belize City. Smith is accused of breaking into one of the rooms at Lucia’s Guest House. On Monday night fifty-five year old Jorge Rodriguez, who rented the room, told police that upon returning to the establishment he noticed that his wallet containing three hundred Belize dollars, a twenty U.S. dollar bill, and a cell phone valued at two hundred and fifty dollars were missing. Intensive investigations not only led police to Smith, but they also recovered the empty wallet and cell phone. Randy Smith has been charged with Burglary and Handling Stolen Property.
