Residents challenge their name removed from voter’s list
Meanwhile in Belize City, eleven Port Loyola residents are challenging the removal of their names from the voters list. The matter came up before Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Smith this morning and the disgruntled residents were represented by Attorney Darrell Bradley, who filed an appeal. At least six senior officers represented the Elections and Boundaries Department and they contended that the deadline for an appeal has passed. But Bradley argued that his clients still have ten days to do so. After listening to both sides, Chief Magistrate Smith decided to allow the appeal and has given Bradley until Friday morning to file the relevant documents. The case was adjourned and further submissions will be made by both sides when it resumes on Friday.
