Was signature disqualification deliberate?

I think the 8,000 disqualified names and signatures should be disclosed to the public. People’s signature change over time,…Some get married, some get divorced, some get conscious and use an X, etc. Voters who participated need to know why they were disenfranchised because obviously, THE PEOPLE wanted a referendum.
agree it is the will of the people ,but dean barrow doesnt’ want the referendum to proceed so he and his govt’ will do everything in their power to lock it-or trow it off,’NO MATTA WHAT’…that was expected from dean barrow.and now the people will decide if they want to continue tolerating this kind of dictatorship govt’.VOTE OUT THE UDP.dean barrow is their for himself enrichment and families and cronies and what about the poor people? no di get NOTHING AT ALL, WE ONLY ARE USED LIKE PUPPETS AND “BAITS-CARNADAS” for dean barrow’s benefit. so its time for the people to wake up and accept the reality.we cannot continue to only ‘IMAGINE THE POSIBILITIES”.
The process of disqualification if outlined, if the signature are not the same, then it is in Oceana vested interest in getting it back if they claim to be genuine. Imagine if you as an official entity would permit people to put the signature they feel without a due process. I think that the barrel is making sound because there are people that want to score political mileage, guess this is why not too many wanted to participate in the process.
I guess Dean Barrow has already signed a deal with the oil barons hence the reason he does not want this referendum to take place, knowing the adverse effect offshore oil drilling would have on the reef, it is obvious he is thinking more of self than country.
@ Concerncitizen you might be surprized to know that people love n care bout BELIZE more than you LOVE your party leader…they had three other areas that could have used to verify, but knowning the only SURE way to get them thrown out was to go by the signatures because i’m sure not even Dean Barrow has the same signature now as when he first registered to vote at 18 years old..so he came into power singing how his party has paved the way for referendum and the people must have a say yet he bogusly came up with this WICKED act…if he is so sure the people want to put our reef at risk then what he scared of….Ms Wallace from his office was on the news w/ the reef survey talking about we must do better to save the reef as the reef is responsible for 20% employment plus other benefit but her boss is ready put all that at risk for the benefit of a very few who in the mix…so yes them ah fraud just like the elec&boundries office
If I recall, Oceana had many paid “volunteers” at public event soliciting signatures. I was approached at the Agric Show by a woman that had no idea what she was doing other than taking signatures from anyone she solicited. How are we to know if these signers are Voters, Belizeans, using false names, or if they even understood what they were signing. I expect that the responsible thing for E&B is to verify whether these signatures were of real voters. Remember the Drivers License Scam? I’m sorry but Audrey has no leg to stand on with this one. If E&B finds that the signatures are irregular, it is up to Oceana to bring the owners of those questionable signatures into the E&B office to validate them. Can you imagine if we allowed voters to be qualified by soliciting them to register in a bar???
I wonder if a check is made of every voter when elections come around. Get real people,,,,
