Daylight robbery earns gunmen expensive jewellery
It may have been twelve-thirty in the afternoon, but that did not stop two brazen armed robbers from committing a hold up on Racecourse Street that netted a nice collection of jewellery.
The unsuspecting victim, fifty-one year old Winston Daly, was riding his bicycle when he told police he was approached by two dark complexioned men on separate bikes. According to Daly, one of the men jumped off his bicycle and pointed a chrome handgun to his side while the accomplice pulled off Daly’s thick gold link chain valued at one thousand, seven hundred dollars, one thick gold esclava also valued at one thousand seven hundred dollars, his gold wedding ring worth a thousand dollars, and his wallet containing his social security card and driver’s license.
Belize City police have no leads on this case, but they are hoping there may be witnesses because the crime took place during the day and the robbers wore no masks. If you have information that can assist the police please contact the nearest station or call Crime Stoppers at 0-800-922-8477.
