No other than the Prime Minister has been following the situation of the novice politician, Yolanda Schakron. P.M. Dean Barrow told the media today that time may not be on Schakron’s side to renounce her U.S. Citizenship. According to the P.M., Schakron remains clueless as to who the perpetrator of the stolen document is since allegations have been made that the passport was stolen by a member of the United Democratic Party.

This is something that was broken by Channel 7, by Jules Vasquez. The U.D.P. was completely ignorant of the Schakron circumstances. So I don’t know how she would turn around now and try to lay any blame at the door of the U.D.P.”
This PM is is now exercising judicial functions in declaring that Ms. Schakron is unable to run because she renounced, according to him, too late. His pompous @$$ needs to go; we are tired of his damn arrogance and his omnipotence. What he says and does must be the law, and if the judges disagree, he enacts legislation to dispose of their decision. Out with your arrogant @$$.

She cannot run because she was not born in Belize nor have Belizean citizenship. She is both American and Guatemalan, nothing other than living in Belize. The PUP were the ones who did not want naturalize citizens to run, so this comes back to bite them in their @$$. As a people we have to follow the laws of the land, I do admire the lady however, she is just not the right person.

As a resident of Belize and business owner I have to ask why no one is looking into theUDP raising duty on almost every item that is imported to Belize. Here are afew examples that should be looked into. King says duty has been reduced on washing machines and refers. not true while king is riding around in the donated abulance in Dangriga he slipped a 4 fold increase on these items . Yes they took the duty off wringer style washers and single door refers but no one has used those styles for forty years.From 5% to 20%. When you add 12.5%Gst 20 % duty and2 % enviromental tax paint has an added tax of 37% taxes Most people in Belize cant afford to paint their house while the king lives in luxury with his entorage. Amentment 9 has ruined anychance of honest investment in Belize Now we have to look forward to only more crooked investment from outside shady businesses with King getting his cut.Some one needs to call the UDP on these increases.
