New bus stop helps Western Avenue residents
People who regularly wait to catch a ride at the corner of Western Avenue and the Western Highway will no longer need to brave the sun or rain for that lift. Thanks to Belize Medical Associates, a bus stop will now provide the much needed shelter. According to B.M.A.’s marketing manager, Therese Diego, the construction is the first of many community projects the medical facility hopes to establish across the country.

“We have noticed a lot of people out here in the morning time or in the evening time waiting for the bus, waiting for some kind of transportation to either go to or from work so we decided that it would be as a community effort as well to establish this bus stop for the people of the area.”
“We are looking at different areas where maybe we could set up probably another bus stop or do some kind of community effort, some kind of community work for the people of Belize either within the city or outside of the city of Belize.”
The bus stop took three weeks to construct. Other projects B.M.A. will be exploring are the adoption of a park, assistance to schools and children’s homes.
