P.U.P. Rally reigns over Cayo

The opposition People’s United Party picked up momentum in the west over the past weekend. The west has traditionally been considered a U.D.P. stronghold, but with the thousands that turned up on Sunday, the opposition is upbeat. There are five constituencies at stake so the P.U.P. machinery geared up for the event. News Five’s Delahnie Bain reports.

The blue machinery revved up over the weekend for another pre-election rally. This time, it was the standard bearers in the west who addressed voters about what the People’s United Party has in store.

Joseph Mahmud, P.U.P. Standard Bearer, Cayo North

Joseph Mahmud

“We have to create infrastructure, streets and farm roads in San Ignacio.  We will implement major infrastructure projects, handle the increased residential zones. In agriculture we will be implementing to increase the quality and quality of corn, beans, ground foods, fruits, vegetables and livestock. Tourism capital will be investing in upgrading infrastructure to allow visitors to have pleasant stay in Cayo.”

Amin Hegar

Amin Hegar, P.U.P. Standard Bearer, Belmopan

“It’s under the People’s United Party that we’ll bring jobs to Belize. It is under the People’s United Party that we’ll bring better health care to all you Belizeans. It is only the People’s United Party that will bring new industries, better education, five acres of land for all the people who want to be in farming. All Belizeans are going to have a piece of land for you to live. Education it’s going to be one laptop for every primary school and secondary school.”

Party leader, Francis Fonseca reinforced that the P.U.P. comes with a complete plan for a better Belize.

Francis Fonseca

“This election is about your future, the future of Belize ad the party that will deliver for you, the party that will create jobs, the party that has a plan to grow this economy, the party that has a plan for the petroleum industry, the party that has a plan for the agriculture industry, the party that has a plan for the tourism industry, the party that has a plan to bring better life to you and your families, the party that has a plan for the health sector, a party that will roll out NHI to everyone across this country, a party that will deliver better education for your families, a party that will make sure your children can go to high school and sixth form and university.”

Orlando Habet

And it is with that plan that the candidates are confident that the currently red Cayo constituencies are going to vote blue on March seventh.

Orlando Habet, P.U.P. Standard Bearer, Cayo North East

“This is a great day. We can all feel a victory on March seventh right. Definitely. Why? Because the People’s United Party will deliver all seats in Cayo on March seventh.”

Julius Espat, P.U.P. Standard Bearer, Cayo South

Julius Espat

“This is no more time to play games. Our lives are at stake, our country is at stake. This is no bling bling session anymore; this is reality and I guarantee you Dean Barrow that Francis Fonseca and the P.U.P. will form the next government. And party leader, Cayo South will be there.”

Oscar Sabido

Oscar Sabido, P.U.P. Standard Bearer, Cayo West

“People, ladies and gentlemen, are tired of the pain and suffering that we have been having in this town; in the twin towns of San Ignacio and Santa Elena, in Benque Viejo and all our villages. We are all tired of the pain and suffering; the bad economy, the bad everything else that is bad is now showing here.”
